Overview
Every site has its own Hazard & Risk Register. You add each hazard, rate it before and after controls, and attach the controls that manage it. Hazards reported from the Forsite App land here too, ready to triage.
Steps
- Open the register
- Go to Sites, select the site, then choose Hazard & Risk Register from the site menu.
- For all sites in one list, use Risk Management → Site Hazard & Risk Register and pick the Site when you add a hazard.
- Describe the hazard
- Click + Detailed Hazard (+ New Hazard on the all-sites list).
- On Identify, pick a Hazard Type if your company uses them, then fill in External Description and Location. Contractors see the external description but not the Internal Description.
- Rate it
- On Assess, choose the Category so its risk matrix loads.
- Click a cell on the Initial Risk Analysis Matrix, then on the Residual Risk Analysis Matrix for the risk once controls are in place.
- If the category has a risk appetite, a note shows whether the residual rating is within it.
- Attach controls
- On Controls, choose a control from Add a control… and click Add. The Measure text is built from the controls you attach.
- Untick Critical on any control that doesn't need regular verification, and enter a Controlled At date.
- Save
- Click Create hazard. It's on every stage, so you can save from any of them.
- Keep the register reviewed
- Work through the Queues on the left. Needs attention holds drafts and app reports; open one with Triage.
- The other queues filter active hazards, for example those with overdue control checks or a review date that has passed.
- After each register audit, update Last audited in the toolbar.
FAQs
Can I import an existing register?
Yes. Click Bulk Manage, use Download import template for the column headings, then upload your CSV. Forsite matches rows to existing hazards and shows what it will create, update or archive before anything changes. Categories and hazard types aren't imported, so add them afterwards.
What happens to hazards reported from the app?
They arrive with the status Reported and wait in Needs attention. Open one with Triage, complete the assessment, set Active Status to Active and save.
How does a hazard get a next review date?
Critical risks have their own Next review date. For other hazards, a rule under Enterprise Risk Settings → Review Cadences fills one in overnight. Hazards past their date move into Review overdue.
How do I take a hazard off the register?
Set Active Status to Archived and save. It moves to the Archived queue, where you can still read it.
