Overview

The Forsite kiosk is a tablet app for your site entrance, where people sign themselves in and out. Forsite creates the kiosk for your site, then you install the app on a tablet and lock the tablet to it.

Steps

  1. Ask Forsite for a kiosk
    • Tell Forsite support which site the kiosk is for and what it should offer, such as visitor sign-in or deliveries. Forsite sends you a kiosk ID, username and password.
    • If visitors should be able to notify the person they're visiting, send Forsite those people's names and email addresses.
  2. Install the app
    • On an iPad, install Forsite Check-In Kiosk from the App Store. On an Android tablet, install it from Google Play.
    • The kiosk needs a working internet connection where it will sit.
  3. Enter the kiosk ID
    • Open the app. On Kiosk setup, enter the kiosk ID exactly as Forsite sent it and tap Continue.
  4. Sign in
    • On Kiosk sign-in, enter the Username and Password and tap Sign in. If asked for a new password, enter one and tap Set password & sign in.
    • Check your site appears under Select a Site to Sign-in.
  5. Lock the tablet to the app
    • iPad: in Settings, turn on Guided Access under Accessibility, set a passcode and set Auto-Lock to Never. Open the kiosk app, triple-click the top button and tap Start.
    • Android: turn on app pinning in Settings (the name varies by tablet) with a PIN to unpin. Open the kiosk app, open Recents, tap the app icon and choose Pin.

What people do at the kiosk

  • Contractors tap the site, choose Contractor if asked, enter their email, complete any Site Induction or Company Induction, then tap Check In.
  • Visitors choose Visitor, enter their email, read the Visitor Site Agreement, sign and tap I acknowledge & check in.
  • Couriers tap Deliveries and pick who it's for, or No name on delivery.
  • Everyone taps Check Out when they leave. The QR code under Scan to use your phone lets people do all this on their own phone.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't reach the Forsite server → Check the tablet's internet connection and tap Retry. The kiosk also retries every 30 seconds. If this appears straight after setup, ask Forsite support to check the kiosk ID matches the sign-in account.
  • A contractor can't tap Check In → They still have an induction to complete. They tap Site Induction or Company Induction, finish the form, tap Close Induction and answer Yes when asked if they saved and submitted it.
  • Someone is told to check out before checking in → They still have an open check-in. They tap Go to check-out page, check out, then check in again.
  • The person a visitor wants to see isn't listed → The list comes from your kiosk's email contacts. Ask Forsite support to add them.

FAQs

Can I change what the kiosk offers?
Yes. Forsite manages the kiosk's features and background image for you. Contact Forsite support with the change. The kiosk picks it up the next time it returns to its home screen.

Do visitors need the Forsite App?
No. They sign in on the tablet, or scan the kiosk's QR code to use their phone's browser. The code changes every minute, so don't print it.

How do I sign the kiosk out or set it up again?
Tap the Forsite logo at the bottom left of the home screen and choose Yes, sign out. To use a different kiosk ID, tap Reset kiosk on the sign-in screen and start again.

Do I need to keep the screen awake?
The app keeps the screen on while it runs. Still set the tablet's auto-lock to Never so the lock screen can't appear after a restart or update.
